Emirati vlogger Khalid Al Ameri gets Dubai star

  DUBAI – Emirati social media influencer Khalid Al Ameri was one of several personalities honored with a Dubai Star, the emirate’s version of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. “I am just happy that I am here today. I am like the little guy, so it’s an honour to represent my country and share the work that we do across the world. It brings communities together. I want to thank everyone who recognised the little guy and the impact we have had,” Al Ameri said at the recent launch of The Dubai Stars at The Palace Downtown. Al Ameri shot to fame with his videos on Facebook where he has more than 3 million followers. The Dubai Stars is a new attraction on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai. Four hundred stars are expected to be unveiled this month. The celebrities picked for Dubai Stars were voted by the public as part of a global social media campaign. When complete, there will be 10,000 Dubai Stars in total, which is four times more than the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
