Crash kills Emirati on way to dad's funeral

  FUJAIRAH – A 45-year-old Emirati woman on her way to her father’s funeral died in a car crash in Dibba, Fujairah, according to reports on Thursday (November 10). Fujairah Police said that the Emirati was a passenger in the vehicle driven by her 18-year-old son when the latter lost control of the car, which collided with two other vehicles on Al Rashidiyah Road. Initial police investigation revealed that the Emirati driver was speeding and tried to overtake two other vehicles during the incident on Wednesday. The mother was instantly killed in the crash, while her son was seriously injured and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The mother and son were on their way to Dibba after receiving news of the death of the woman’s father, relatives said.
