UAE airline helps Pakistani survivor of Houthi attack in Abu Dhabi

Etihad Airways has facilitated the return of a survivor of the Houthi terror strikes on Abu Dhabi to his worried family in Pakistan. Said Noor Khan, a 33-year-old driver, was one of six individuals injured in the January 17 missile and drone attacks on Adnoc's gasoline tankers, which resulted in explosions. Khan was severely injured and had to undergo surgery before completing his recovery at Burjeel Medical City. He had previously stated that his family members in the Waziristan region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province were concerned and looking forward to his return. “I have a joint family of five brothers and my wife and three kids. They were all tense and shocked after the incident. The initial days were very difficult for them. Even now, they are worried about my recovery. I make daily phone calls to assure them that I am fine. They want me to return. I may go home for a few days depending on my health conditions and money in my hand,” Khan said. Following the release of the news story, the national airline, Etihad Airways, granted him a business class return ticket to visit his family. Khan traveled to Islamabad on Wednesday (March 23) and was ecstatic with the level of care and attention he received. “Etihad Airways made me feel so special. They picked me up from my accommodation in Mussafah. Once I was at the airport, there was a staff member accompanying me throughout. He took care of my luggage. It was a business class ticket. This was the first time I was traveling in business class, which is a very expensive one. It was a royal treat. They gave me so much love and respect. It’s beyond words to describe the experience,” Khan said through a phone call from Pakistan. He added that the tickets which were offered by the national airline had been very helpful at a time when he wanted to visit his family but was worried about money. Khan is currently enjoying a short break with his children and loved ones. “They are all very happy seeing me. I will be now spending some quality time with my family before returning to Abu Dhabi onboard Etihad Airways. My entire family is very thankful to Etihad Airways,” Khan then added. KMB/Expat Media
