Etihad Rail’s much-anticipated passenger service is set to transform travel across the UAE, making journeys faster, more eco-friendly, and convenient. With the first station to be built in Fujairah and connections across major cities, Etihad Rail aims to revolutionize the way people travel in the Emirates. Here's everything you need to know:

Where will the first Etihad Rail passenger train station be built?

The first passenger station will be constructed in Sakamkam, Fujairah, at the heart of the city.

Who is designing the Etihad Rail passenger train?

The trains are being designed by Spain’s CAF, a renowned manufacturer that adheres to European standards. Each train will accommodate over 400 passengers, offering first class, business class, and economy seating options, with speeds of up to 200km/h.

Which cities will Etihad Rail connect?

Etihad Rail will connect 11 key areas across the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Al Dhaid, and Al Ruwais, stretching from Al Sila to Fujairah.

How long will travel times be?

Once operational, travel from Abu Dhabi to Dubai or Dubai to Fujairah will take just 50 minutes. The journey from Abu Dhabi to Al Ruwais will be 1 hour and 10 minutes, while travel from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah will take 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Will Etihad Rail extend to Oman?

Yes, the Etihad Rail network will extend to Sohar, Oman, via Sohar Port. The journey from Abu Dhabi to Sohar will take 1 hour and 40 minutes, and from Al Ain to Sohar, just 47 minutes.

What amenities will be available on the trains?

The trains will feature infotainment systems, charging stations, ample legroom, advanced air-conditioning, food and beverages, and high levels of security. They will also be operated with an elegant "Orient Express" style, led by Italian luxury company Arsenale.

How does Etihad Rail contribute to sustainability?

Etihad Rail is expected to reduce road transport CO2 emissions by 21% by 2050. Each train trip will eliminate 300 trucks from UAE roads, reducing traffic congestion and environmental impact.

What about Etihad Freight Rail?
