  MARAWI CITY - Retired track and field athlete Elma Muros-Posadas had never felt so scared in her entire life when Muslim terrorists attacked Marawi City lst Tuesday. Posadas and her husband-coach Jojo were in Marawi to hold clinics along other coaches tapped by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) when the siege happened. Maute and Abu Sayyaf terrorists attacked Marawi City late Tuesday afternoon. The terrorists raided a hospital and burned down a college, the city's cathedral and city jail. They also took hostage a priest and church workers. The attack prompted President Rodrigo Duterte to declare Martial Law on the entire island of Mindanao and prompted him to cut short his four-day visit in Russia to return to the Philippines. "In my entire life, that was the one," Elma told the sports website Spin.ph in an interview in Davao City when she was asked if that was the scariest experience she ever had. She said the experience was traumatic not only for her but for the other members of the PSC contingent, especially when they heard gunfire and a blackout hit Marawi City. The other members of the PSC contingent were coaches Nico Cawed and Johanne Remaneses of table tennis, Aquilino Pastoral III of football, Manny Llave of softball, Rodolfo Eco and Gene Mark Saavedra of sepak takraw, and Ariolas Amahit and Jose Jardin of badminton. Elma recalled that they were holding a sports clinic and grassroots coaching program for the Philippine Sports Institute at the Mindanao State University (MSU)-Marawi on Tuesday when heard loud noises which they thought was just lightning and turned out to be gunfire. Security men surrounded their group and led them to their hostel where they stayed as the siege went on. Before the city was hit by a blackout, Elma said they were able to watch the news about the siege that was unfolding. Some members of the contingent began to cry and started informing their families what was going on. Elma said they barely slept last Tuesday night because they were ready to leave Marawi at anytime. The next day, Elma said their group left for Iligan City where a PSC officer met them and then brought them to Davao City.
