Ray Allen went out for a jog and commented 'traffic is everywhere'

  MANILA – Retired NBA athlete Ray Allen was excited for his first-ever visit in the Philippines but was dismayed by the infamous traffic in Manila.
"Traffic is everywhere," wrote the 42-year-old point guard, who last played in the NBA in 2014 with the Miami Heat, in a caption of an photo he took of traffic on a major thoroughfare in the financial district of Makati. He posted the pic in his Instagram account.

Prior to arriving in the Philippines from Hong Kong, Allen posted a pic on Tuesday of his boarding pass for a Manila-bound flight and captioned it: "My first time in the thrilla. #manila". Allen was in Hong Kong for an event for a sneaker brand. Allen's use of the word "thrilla" was in reference to the "Thrilla in Manila" - the title of the third and final boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier held in Manila in 1975. Allen then went on a seven-mile jog around Makati and took a photo of the traffic on a major road. "Me and @tyfleming3 ventured into the unknown this morning. Allen's visit comes just days after Metta World Peace (formerly known as Ron Artest) was also in the country for a 24-hour personal visit. LeBron James is expected in Manila later this week.
