8 revealing Q&A with AlDub star Alden Richards on where he spends his money, Maine Mendoza and their special connection

  DUBAI – He’s got a multi-platinum music album out, a box office hit, and now a book. What else has AlDub heartthrob Alden Richards got up his sleeves? The star is giving readers a glimpse into his life with the much-awaited book titled Alden Richards: In My Own Words, where he shares his journey from simple beginnings to reaching star status. In an interview with ExpatMedia.Net, the star opens up about Dubai, where he spends money on, on-screen partner Maine Mendoza and their special connection. Here’s the Q&A: Hi Alden! How are you doing? You were in Dubai early this year. When are you coming back? Alden: Dubai is a great place, and I look forward to going back there when I have a chance. I met so many wonderful people, especially my fellow Filipinos who work so hard for their families back home. Of all the movies you've done with Maine, which one did you like doing most and why? Alden: This is our first solo movie together, which was done for our anniversary, so Imagine You & Me is definitely very special. This is meaningful for both of us, and most especially, for everyone who has been supporting us. A lot of people talk about AlDub's "genuine closeness". What do you think that means, exactly? At what lengths have you gone through to keep your closeness with Maine? Alden: Our relationship has progressed a lot since the time of the “Tamang Panahon” concert. We went through so many phases that you could possibly go through, but now, we’re stronger than ever. We understand each other and we complement each other very well. You have a successful romantic on-screen relationship with Maine. What do you do together, off screen? Also name five things you like about Maine and why. Alden: We help each other out, we dine out, and we talk about personal things. It’s different when you get emotional support from those you work with—from Maine, and also our director, Mike Tuviera. I can only name five? Well, Maine is funny, energetic, smart, talented and beautiful inside and out. So where is this "picturesque destination" that you and Maine will be travelling to for a magazine shoot? Tell me more about it. Alden: You just have to wait and see! But it’s exciting so I do hope you watch out for it. Speaking of magazine shoots, I'm sure you have already done tons of those. How do you make sure you look good for the camera? Also, if you could plan your ultimate photoshoot, what would we see and what would that be like? Alden: It’s really also about being yourself in front of the camera, because then you are more relaxed and natural. If I could plan my own photoshoot, it should be fun and very natural. What do you do with what you earn as an actor? What kind of investments do you have and why do you have them? Alden: My family is very important to me and I am grateful for all the blessings He has given, so that I am able to provide for them. I also invested in a restaurant in Tagaytay called Concha’s Garden Café. I’ve always loved their food, especially Laoya (a soup dish), so when there was an opportunity to become a partner, I didn’t hesitate. It’s very important to provide a secure future for your family. Do you think there would ever be a chance that you and Maine would become a real-life couple? Why or why not? Alden: Maine is a very special woman and any guy would be lucky to have her. As they say, all good things take time.
