Expat dies after being hit by 4WD in Ras Al Khaimah

  DUBAI – An Asian man riding his bicycle died after he was hit by a vehicle in Ras Al Khaimah on Friday, according to Ras Al Khaimah Police on Saturday (June 29). The victim was riding his bicycle in a non-designated area when he was hit by the driver of a 4-wheel drive vehicle, police said.  The 31-year-old victim died on the spot. Police also said that the driver failed to notice the cyclist on the road. Police did not release further details about the identity of the driver but said he is a 39-year-old Gulf national. "Initial enactment of the accident showed that it happened due to poor visibility. The motorist and the cyclist were also not paying attention while on the road," said Brigadier Ahmad Al Sam Al Naqbi, director of the Traffic and Patrols Department.
