Expo 2020 Dubai nears 15 million visitors
DUBAI – Expo 2020 Dubai is on target this week to hit a total of 15 million visitors since it opened in October, organisers said. With less than 40 days to go before its grand finale, Expo 2020 has seen local visits surging by 128 percent in the past six weeks. Unlimited entry to Expo 2020 costs Dh50 for a Season Finale Pass. Footfall has been widely boosted as Expo 2020 hosted several concerts by big stars, including Coldplay, Black Eyed Peas and Alicia Keys. It also hosted tennis champion Novak Djokovic and other sport stars. Music highlights at Expo 2020 that drew in big crows also include special concerts by Lea Salonga, Bamboo and Moira Dela Torre of the Philippines, Shreya Ghoshal and Nora Fatehi of India and Shafqat Amanat and Hadiqa Kiani of Pakistan. Emirati hitmaker Alira also enthralled crowds with the launch of his song We Are One at Expo 2020. More star-studded line-ups are expected to continue in March, including Canadian jazz legend Diana Krall at Al Wasl Plaza on March 19, and Toni and Alex Gonzaga on March 3.
