Expo 2020 Dubai suspends some events
DUBAI – Some entertainment events, including daily parades, at Expo 2020 Dubai have been suspended as a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19. On Monday (December 20), the senior vice president of Expo 2020 communications announced that close-contact events have been put on hold. “Some of our close-contact events, such as parades and roving entertainers, have been temporarily suspended as a short-term precautionary measure. This is a dynamic and fluid situation and we are reviewing this daily,” Sconaid McGeachin said. Most events at Expo 2020 will continue as scheduled over the holidays. At Al Wasl Plaza, Christmas shows play every night. McGeachin’s announcement came a day after the UAE reported its highest number of Covid-19 cases in 12 weeks, with 285 new cases recorded on Sunday.
