The 22-year-old Emirati driver who drove his pick-up truck into a McDonald's restaurant in Ajman will be spending more time in police detention, the Ajman Public Prosecution ruled on Sunday (August 14). The Emirati suffered an epileptic fit during the July 18 incident, ploughing the truck into the fast food outlet at an Eppco station in Ajman's Al Hamadiya. The crash left a 45-year-old Indian woman and a nine-year-old Iraqi boy dead. Six others, including three children, were injured. The suspect will remain in police custody while investigation is ongoing. A prosecutor said that authorities are awaiting medical reports, following which the case will be referred to court.
