New face mask rule for students in Dubai

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) issued a statement on Wednesday (March 2) announcing that face masks are no longer required outdoors in Dubai schools, but remain compulsory indoors. The new set of guidelines applies to private schools, universities, and early childhood centers in Dubai. Students and staff members who had close contact with an infected person are not required to isolate, given that they do not show any symptoms. Only Covid-19 positive cases are mandated to isolate for ten days. Dubai government authorities remind schools to follow the safety protocols by maintaining social distancing, consistent sanitation, and contact tracing. KHDA also announced on Tuesday (March 1) that there will be no tuition fee increase for private schools in Dubai in the 2020-2022 academic year. JMS/Expat Media
