DUBAI – Sharjah Police has arrested a fake security guard who robbed pedestrians in Sharjah’s Al Saja’a area. The arrest was made after Sharjah Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) received several complaints about the man impersonating a security guard to rob people in the area. Investigators kept the suspect under surveillance and later arrested him. During interrogation, he confessed to his crimes. After the incident, Sharjah Police reiterated a warning to the public to be wary of impersonators, and advised them not to follow orders until presented with official police ID cards. Police said that the force does not ask people to check their personal wallets or give money. ICA/Expat Media
