What fate awaits young immigrants brought to US illegally?

  WASHINGTON - A decision expected on Tuesday will decide the fate of nearly 800,000 young people brought into the US illegally as children. US President Donald Trump is expected to announce his plans for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (Daca) on Tuesday, a program that has allowed nearly 800,000 young immigrants to work legally in the country and get a reprieve from deportation. Trump did not reveal much about what his decision will be, but told reporters, "I think the dreamers are terrific." White House press secretary Sarah Hukabee Sanders said that Trump is "taking time and diligent effort to make sure that he goes through every bit of the process". Several legislators have been urging Trump to hold off on scrapping the program to give them time to come up with a legislative solution to protect those now covered by the program. And so I really do believe that there needs to be a legislative solution," Ryan told Wisconsin radio station WCLO. But while Trump is receiving daily protests from people, including celebrities, calling for him to keep the program, a group of Republican state officials have said that if he did not stop the program by September 5 then they would challenge Dcaca in court.
