Father runs over toddler while driving out Dubai villa

  DUBAI – An 18-month-old Indian girl was killed after her father accidentally ran over her as he was driving his car out of the parking space in their Dubai villa. Police said that the incident happened near Century Mall in Hor Al Anz on Friday (August 12). "The father hit his daughter when he was reversing his car in Hor Al Anz. He didn't see that she was behind the car," said Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, director of the Dubai Traffic Police. The toddler, Sama, was playing with her cousins when she saw her father leaving. She ran towards his vehicle, which was reversing out of the driveway and she was knocked down. The father, Abid, rushed the toddler to a hospital but she died of her injuries. She was buried in the Al Quoz graveyard on Saturday. Earlier this year an Emirati man ran over his daughter in Al Quoz area. She also died.
