A Filipina nurse who had only recently arrived in Abu Dhabi tragically died in a car accident earlier this week. According to the Philippine Embassy in the UAE, the woman, whose identity has been withheld, died on Sunday (October 6). She had been working for a home healthcare company and had arrived in the UAE just two months earlier, in August. The Philippine Embassy, along with the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Abu Dhabi, confirmed that they are in contact with the nurse's family and are providing the necessary assistance. However, the circumstances surrounding the accident have not been disclosed. Her employer was informed of the tragic incident on Monday (October 7). “We are saddened by the loss of our fellow nurse in Abu Dhabi. Our deepest condolences to her family,” said Ronald Gamiao, president of the Filipino Nurses Association in Emirates. “We have reached out to our MWO, and they are handling this matter along with her company.” The Filipina nurse was last reported to have worked on Saturday (October 5), but friends and colleagues were unable to reach her the following day. It was later confirmed that she had been involved in a fatal car accident on Sunday night. The Filipino community in the UAE, particularly healthcare professionals, has expressed their grief over the loss. Social media platforms have been flooded with tributes and messages of condolences. Community groups dedicated to Filipino nurses in the UAE have offered their support to the family and have called for the safety and well-being of overseas workers. As the investigation continues, the embassy has assured that the necessary legal and procedural steps will be taken to ensure that her family receives the support they need. ICA/Expat Media
