A Filipina nurse from Ras Al Khaimah and an Indian IT professional from Abu Dhabi both took home Dh150,000 each in the latest Big Ticket e-draw. The winners plan to share their prizes with friends and continue trying their luck. Antonette Mohamed, a 52-year-old Filipina nurse who has called Ras Al Khaimah home since 1997, struck gold in the latest weekly draw. For Antonette, the win is deeply personal—she’s been buying Big Ticket entries as a tribute to her late husband. “My husband was the one who used to purchase Big Tickets regularly. After he passed away, I felt it was only right to continue his legacy,” Antonette said. She has been participating in the draw since the Covid-19 pandemic, teaming up with 17 friends to purchase tickets every month. When she received the call from Big Ticket, she was initially skeptical. “When I received the winning call, I was asleep and woke up to a voice message. At first, I thought it was a scam, but after checking the official website, I realised it was true. I’m really, really happy – it still hasn’t sunk in,” she shared. Antonette plans to split her winnings with her group of friends and says she’ll keep trying her luck. “I will definitely keep purchasing, and I encourage everyone to buy a ticket – you never know, your turn might be next,” she added. Also winning Dh150,000 in the same draw was 27-year-old Jishnu Thottingal Kunjankutty, an Indian IT professional based in Abu Dhabi. Like Antonette, Jishnu has been buying tickets with a group of friends—in his case, 10—over the past year. The surprise win caught him off guard. “I’m really shocked and happy at the same time. Like many others, I initially thought it was a fake call – but then I recognised Richard’s voice and realised it was real,” said Jishnu, referring to the Big Ticket host. Now, he too plans to split his winnings and continue participating in future draws. “We definitely plan on buying more tickets together,” he said.
