Plane made emergency Dubai landing for pregnant Filipina who had threatened miscarriage

  DUBAI – A pregnant Filipina onboard a Bahrain-bound fight that was forced to make an emergency landing in Dubai after the woman had a threatened miscarriage has been discharged from a hospital in the emirate, a Philippine consulate official in Dubai revealed on Monday (February 27). The woman was travelling to Bahrain from Thailand with her 12-year-old son when she felt a threatened miscarriage, a state in the pregnancy that occurs when there is an amount of bleeding. The plane then made an emergency landing in Dubai and the woman was rushed to the Latifah Hospital where she gave birth, said Philippine Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes. He did not reveal the identity of the mother and child. Cortes said that the baby was born 25 weeks early. The mother and her baby have recently been discharged from the hospital, Cortes said. The consul general said that the baby is now almost four months old and that the Philippine government will assist in repatriating the mother and her baby.
