A Filipina expat named Babeth (full name withheld) won Dh10,000 on Thursday night (October 31) in the Roads and Transport Authority’s Dubai Metro Mystery Man Challenge. The challenge, which took place at the RTA Deira Old Souq Marine Station, attracted a large crowd hopeful to win the cash prize and to be part of the excitement. The crowd assembled around 6:30pm, awaiting a surprise encounter with the so-called Mystery Man who was scheduled to appear and choose a winner from among the participants. Thursday's challenge provided a twist to the challenge. Instead of participants finding the Mystery Man in a designated Dubai Metro station, he would be the one to find them. Earlier in the day, participants were prompted to text “MM” to a designated number, 4003, to secure a spot in the challenge. As the Mystery Man arrived, he began making random calls to numbers listed, with many attempts going unanswered. However, on the twelfth call, Babeth answered, a moment met with cheers from the audience. She had learned about the challenge through Tag 91.1 radio, prompting her to ask the Mystery Man the key question: “Are you the Tag 91.1 Mystery Man?” His affirmative answer clinched her victory and the coveted prize. Speaking to Tag 91.1 radio shortly after her win, Babeth expressed her joy and gratitude. “I am thrilled to win this prize,” she said, adding that she plans to share the prize money with her family and friends. The Dubai Metro Mystery Man challenge, which has captivated residents throughout its run, will culminate in its final event on November 1. The upcoming event promises even more rewards, with a Dh10,000 cash prize and a 50-gram gold bar awaiting the first participant who finds the Mystery Man on the last day of the challenge. Organized by RTA in collaboration with Arabian Radio Network (ARN), the Mystery Man challenge aims to engage and entertain residents with thrilling opportunities to win substantial prizes as part of Public Transport Day celebrations.
