A Filipino accountant in Sharjah has struck gold, quite literally, after winning a 24K gold bar worth Dh80,000 in the Big Ticket daily draw, organizers have announced. Jordan Odchique, 51, who has lived in the UAE for 15 years, is now one of the latest winners of the country’s oldest raffle draw. He won the daily draw on October 15. Odchique has been purchasing Big Ticket raffle tickets since 2020 and was overjoyed to receive the call informing him of his win. “It felt too good to be true! I’m still thinking about what to do with the winning gold, but I will definitely continue purchasing Big Ticket,” he said. His message to others? “Purchase monthly—there are always chances to win.” Odchique is one of several Big Ticket winners this October. Other winners include Dubai-based Ameer Thoppil Abdulkareem and Abu Dhabi-based Bibymon Kunjachen, who also won 24K gold bars. Abdulkareem, who purchased his winning ticket online, said he is thrilled and plans to participate in future draws. Big Ticket participants who purchase tickets in October will be entered into daily electronic draws for a chance to win a 24K gold bar. The month-long promotion will culminate in a grand prize draw of Dh20 million on November 3, with another lucky winner set to drive off in a Range Rover Velar.
