A video of a Dubai-based Filipina who returned home to serenade her sick mother has gone viral on social media. Jinky Usher Banzon, a Filipina who has lived in the UAE in the last six years, recently returned to the Philippines to take care of her mother. The power belter sang her mother a Filipino ballad. Banzon, who is more popularly known as Usher in Dubai, said it was the first time in four years that she has returned home. She vowed to take care of her mother “day and night”. In a TikTok video, Usher is seen singing the Filipino love song Araw-Gabi (day and night) to her bedridden mother who is hooked up to a portable oxygen tank. The touching video has gotten nearly 900,000 views on TikTok as of Friday (May 12). Scroll down to watch the video Usher works full time as a travel agent for Dubai-based The Pinoy Smart Holidays. She also moonlights as a singer. She was a finalist in the OFW Got Talent singing competition in Dubai in 2022 as part of the T-Boom Divas duo. Speaking to Expatmedia.net, a representative of The Pinoy Smart Holidays said Usher returned home on April 24 to take care of her mother in the Philippines. The company helped her arrange her travel. Kim K (full name withheld) of The Pinoy Smart Holidays said that Usher wanted to spend time with her mother after the latter suffered numerous strokes and was admitted to the hospital several times. Usher’s mother is now receiving care at their home in Cavite. She is reported to be in stable condition. The Pinoy Smart Holidays reportedly shouldered Usher’s travel expenses to the Philippines, while management and her colleagues have pooled their money to send her financial assistance. “We really admire her courage and her love for her family. She has a big heart and will do everything for the people she loves. We always see her put on a happy face because she doesn’t want anyone to worry,” Kim told Expatmedia.net.
