Filipino expat wins with 1996 Big Ticket in Abu Dhabi
DUBAI - An old Big Ticket stub that he bought in 1996 proved to be a stroke of good luck for Filipino expatriate Nestor Suzon, who won a prize for the oldest ticket. Suzon brought his ticket dated June 20, 1996 to the Bring Me game at the Big Ticket draw at the Abu Dhabi International Airport on Wednesday. He had almost forgotten about the ticket, which he stashed in his old bag. The Filipino has lived in Abu Dhabi since 1989 before moving to Bahrain in 1996 when he bought the ticket for the first time. He moved back to Abu Dhabi in 2010 and has lived in the capital ever since, working at the Abu Dhabi Health Services. Speaking to the media, Suzon said he remembered the ticket in his old bag at home and went hunting for it. Luckily, he found the ticket decided to bring it to the Big Ticket Draw where there was a prize for the holder of the oldest ticket. And sure enough, Suzon won the prize for the oldest Big Ticket stub. His big prize? A mobile phone and a free ticket to the Big Ticket draw for Dh15 million next month.
