A Filipino expatriate in the UAE won Dh100,000 in the latest Mahzooz draw that also saw five other Filipinos win Dh55,555 each. Mark Anthony almost missed the good news about his windfall last Saturday. The next Mahzooz draw is on Saturday (June 4). “When a former colleague called me on the night of the draw, I was not able to pick up his call. I then received a message from him conveying the happy news about the win,” he said. “I immediately opened the Mahzooz app on my phone to verify the results and I was so surprised to find my name among the winners. It was an indescribable moment,” he added. The Filipino said he will use the money to pay for the education of his three children. He will also use the money to renovate his family home in the Philippines. Winning the draw, he said, was “a gift I was not expecting”. Susie, a Filipina nurse in Abu Dhabi, said she will save her prize of Dh55,555. Esper, an accountant, said she will use her Dh55,555 winnings to rebuild her parents’ home in the Philippines.
