The Philippine Business Council Dubai and Northern Emirates (PBC-DNE) has launched its first official event under its new board with a comprehensive financial literacy seminar aimed at empowering Filipino professionals in the UAE. The Freedom 101 seminar on Monday (April 14) brought together PBC-DNE members from various industries and career stages to learn practical skills in money management, investment strategies, and long-term financial planning. The seminar was held as part of the council’s mission to foster financial empowerment among overseas Filipinos. Led by personal finance experts Dr. Ben Lebig Jr., Charry Dela Cruz, and Ma. Francia Angeles, the session offered valuable insights and strategies that attendees could immediately apply. Topics covered included budgeting, wealth-building techniques, and understanding different types of investment options. The audience was made up of professionals from a wide range of industries— from CEOs to early-career employees— reflecting the council’s goal of making financial education accessible and relevant to all levels of experience. “We wanted to create this event for the employees and staff of all PBC members so they can take the first step towards financial freedom and learn how to invest and prepare for their future,” said Roberto Capulong, Finance Director of PBC-DNE. The initiative was spearheaded by the League of Food and Beverage Entrepreneurs (LFBE), a subcommittee of PBC-DNE, and was supported by Burjuman BHUB, whose collaboration helped ensure the event’s success.
