FilSoc appointed as community partner of Philippine Expo 2020 team

DUBAI – The Filipino Social Club (FilSoc) was appointed by Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Hjayceelyn Quintana as the official community partner of the Philippine Expo 2020 team. The appointment was announced on Saturday (June 12) at the Philippine Consulate during the commemoration of the 123rd Philippine Independence Day. Watch it here: Ericson Reyes, FilSoc President, will lead as chairman of the FilSoc-Dubai Expo 2020 Committee, working closely with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), headed by Assistant Secretary Rosvi Gaetos. “This is a big challenge for FilSoc but with one vision and mission, we can raise the bar higher as Filipinos. Together, we can make history,” Reyes said. Prior to the announcement, Ambassador Quintana personally met FilSoc's Board of Directors and briefed them about the vital role of the club during the six-month run of Expo 2020 in Dubai. A committee was immediately formed in which Reyes laid out recommended activities for the Philippine participation in Expo 2020. These included the Bangkota Awareness, ASEAN National Day Parade, PH National Day Parade, PH Bangkota Opening Ceremony and many other cultural and sports events. FilSoc was also given the task of forming the FilSoc Expo Chorale, the biggest singing group ever organized abroad, targeting 500 active members. FilSoc is the only Filipino organisation accredited by the Dubai Government and licensed by the Community Development Authority. ICA/Expat Media
