In the early hours of Monday morning, firefighters battled a large fire at a high-rise in Downtown Dubai. The footage showed flames spreading throughout the 35-story structure. The fire was out by dawn, but a large portion of the facade was charred. Emaar, the developer, has built the building as part of a tower complex called 8 Boulevard Walk. Details are being sought from Dubai Police and civil defense authorities. According to Bindu Rai, a resident of the building across the scene, the fire started around 2:20 am. "Fire had spread inside two apartments that were somewhere mid-way. For the rest of the building, it was limited to the exterior," Rai explained. She stated that there were pieces of debris falling on the ground at one point. "It was brought under control by 3:45 am and we could see firefighters and emergency crews at the scene," she added.
