A restaurant in Dubai’s Al Barsha 1 district caught fire on Tuesday night (May 13) after a gas leak, Dubai Civil Defence confirmed. The blaze erupted at Pearl View Restaurant and Cafeteria, located on the lower level of a residential building. Civil Defence teams responded swiftly to the incident, bringing the fire under control in what authorities described as "record time." An investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to the gas leak and subsequent fire. “No casualties were reported,” authorities confirmed in a statement. Firefighters remained on-site after extinguishing the flames to initiate cooling operations and inspect the structural safety of the building. Several residents in the area reported hearing a loud explosion before the fire engulfed the establishment. Videos and photos circulating online showed flames and smoke billowing from the restaurant, prompting warnings from authorities. The Dubai Civil Defence urged the public to refrain from approaching the site and to avoid spreading unverified information on social media. “Violators will be penalized,” officials warned.
