Dubai’s Flag Garden, a popular annual display, is back with a new look at Jumeirah Beach in Umm Suqeim 2. This year’s installation celebrates the legacy of UAE’s founding fathers with 11,600 flags meticulously arranged to form aerial portraits of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Organized by Brand Dubai, the creative branch of the Dubai Government Media Office, the 11th edition of Flag Garden aligns with the #ZayedAndRashid campaign. Spanning 75 meters in length and 104 meters in height, the flag display honors the significant contributions of Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid to the UAE’s development and unity. Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, expressed the deep connection between the installation and the UAE’s national spirit, saying, “This year’s Flag Garden embraces the #ZayedAndRashid campaign’s theme of celebrating the memory of our founding fathers, who have shaped the nation we know today.” The Flag Garden installation coincides with the UAE Flag Day on November 3 and the UAE National Day, Eid Al Etihad, on December 2. It will remain open to visitors until January 10. According to Mahra Alyouha, Project Manager of the Flag Garden, “Over the past decade, Flag Garden has become a landmark event attracting thousands of visitors each year, symbolizing the unity and resilience of our nation.” In previous years, Flag Garden has honored other UAE leaders, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as well as members of Dubai’s royal family. The annual installation is part of a broader initiative by Brand Dubai to commemorate national milestones and celebrate UAE’s rich cultural heritage. Visitors are encouraged to share their experiences at Flag Garden on social media using the hashtag #UAEFlagGarden to spread the message of national pride. ICA/Expat Media
