The remains of Mohammad Faraj, a 70-year-old former UAE soldier who died in a car crash in Oman on August 2, will be repatriated on Monday night (August 4). His funeral will take place after Asr prayer on Tuesday (August 5) at Al Qusais Cemetery in Dubai. Faraj was on a family trip to Salalah with his wife of 54 years, Fathima Al Hashmi, and daughter Samiha when their car collided head-on with another vehicle. The crash also killed Nasser Al Kindi, an Omani math teacher traveling with his family. Samiha, who survived the car crash, will accompany her father’s body home. Her brother, Ansar Al Tamimi, said the burial will be "extremely hard" for their father's most beloved child. Fathima, 69, remains hospitalized in Oman with rib injuries and lung damage. She is expected to fully recover within the week. Condolences will be received from August 5 to 7. The women’s gathering will be held at the deceased’s home in Mirdif, and the men’s at another location nearby. The family paid tribute to Faraj’s devotion as a soldier and father. “My father loved his country with all his life,” said Ansar. “He was a diehard Al Ahli football fan and always prioritized his family’s future and education.” ICA/Expat Media
