Four UAE residents to row across the Atlantic Ocean

The Arabian Ocean Rowing Team attempts to be the first UAE team to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean from La Gomera, off the coast of Africa, to English Harbour in Antigua. The event launched on the second day of the 28th Dubai International Boat Show, which runs till March 13 at Dubai Harbour, the Middle East's largest port. The Arabian Ocean Rowing Team of four, including Fahim Al Qasimi, Toby Gregory, James Raley, and Rai Tamagnini, will be pushed to their physical and mental limitations. The team will face 40-foot waves and extended sleep deprivation while rowing two hours on, two hours off for 24 hours a day while living in tight quarters. The team will use the crossing to promote awareness about environmental sustainability. They will also conduct a school and university program to encourage future generations to take risks, follow their hearts, and pursue their ambitions. BKM/ Expat Media
