With Breast Cancer Awareness Month approaching in November, Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) is bringing back its popular Pink Caravan initiative for a fun three-day family event at Aljada in Sharjah and will give free breast cancer screenings and conduct awareness workshops, from October 4-6. The free event aims to encourage people to take advantage of the free screenings and raise awareness about the importance of early detection for better treatment results and a higher chance of full recovery. The Pink Caravan's mobile and mini-clinics will offer free breast cancer screenings for both men and women. Awareness workshops will discuss cancer prevention, self-examinations, and the importance of having regular medical check-ups. Special workshops will be offered for cancer patients and survivors who receive ongoing support from FOCP. The event will also include sports, competitions, and entertainment for all ages. Children can interact with and feed animals at the petting zoo, while the children's area will include bouncy castles and a gaming zone. Adults can look forward to a unique shopping experience and taste a variety of delicious foods. The three-day event will also feature the Manbat market, showcasing locally produced healthy products. A portion of the proceeds will support FOCP's mission of offering financial and emotional support to cancer patients. FOCP's Pink Shop will also sell exclusive merchandise, with all sales going directly to cancer patients and their families. The event will run from 4pm to 10pm next to the ZAD food trucks in Aljada. Pink Caravan also offers companies the opportunity to book a Mobile Clinic that will provide free mammograms for up to 20 female employees aged 40 and above and clinical breast exams for 60 female employees aged 20 and older. They can avail of these free services by emailing jamila@pinkcaravan.ae or hana@pinkcaravan.ae. Pink Caravan is an annual breast cancer awareness campaign in UAE by Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP).
