In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, free breast cancer tests and mammogram screenings will be offered to female citizens and residents in the UAE. Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), in partnership with key public and private sector organisations, will be offering these free clinical exams and screenings nationwide this October. Pink Caravan, FOCP's annual campaign, offers companies the opportunity to book a Mobile Clinic that will provide free mammograms for up to 20 female employees aged 40 and above and clinical breast exams for 60 female employees aged 20 and older. Moreover, the Pink Caravan Corporate Wellness Day will offer virtual seminars and vouchers for mammogram screenings and clinical exams for women employees aged 20 and above from both private and government organisations. The campaign also allows businesses to host awareness seminars for both their men and women employees, either in-person or virtually. Companies can avail of these free services by emailing jamila@pinkcaravan.ae or hana@pinkcaravan.ae. FOCP is also inviting looking for volunteers for the Pink Caravan campaign. Doctors, nurses, and medical and nursing students are encouraged to participate this October to provide free medical services to the community and support the campaign's mission. Interested volunteers can sign up by emailing info@pinkcaravan.ae. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women globally. In 2020, 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer, leading to 685,000 deaths worldwide. However, when detected early and proper diagnosis and treatment are provided, breast cancer can be cured.
