Residents celebrating Eid Al Adha in Dubai can enjoy free ice cream at major public parks across the city as part of a festive initiative by Dubai Municipality. The giveaway will take place from 4pm to 7pm on May 27 and 28, the first two days of Eid Al Adha, under Dubai Municipality’s “Eid Gifts” initiative. The treats will be distributed at several major parks, including Al Barsha Pond Park, Mushrif Park, Zabeel Park, Creek Park, Al Safa Park, as well as selected community parks across Dubai. The initiative coincides with the official Eid Al Adha holiday, which begins on May 27 and continues until May 29, following Arafat Day on May 26. The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources earlier announced a five-day paid holiday for public sector workers from May 25 to 29, with work resuming on June 1 due to the regular weekend. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) confirmed a four-day paid holiday for private sector employees from May 26 to 29, with work resuming on May 30. Dubai Municipality has also extended operating hours for several parks and attractions during Eid. Al Safa Park, Creek Park, Mushrif Park and Zabeel Park will open daily from 8am until midnight, while Quranic Park and Al Mamzar Park will also operate from 8am to 12am. Dubai Frame will welcome visitors from 8am to 9pm during the holiday. Residents planning to use public transport can take advantage of extended Eid schedules. The Dubai Metro will operate daily from 5am to 1am from May 25 to 31, while the Dubai Tram will run from 6am to 1am from May 25 to 30. Travellers departing through Dubai International Airport may also find occasional complimentary ice cream carts in airport terminals during the festive season. For those looking for more Eid activities, Global Village is also preparing special celebrations, marking its first Eid Al Adha festivities in 13 years.
