Public parking in Sharjah will be free on Sunday (September 15), in observance of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday. However, the seven-day paid public parking zones in Sharjah's Muwaileh commercial area are not exempted. These zones remain active throughout the week, including official holidays, to manage the high demand for parking in this residential and commercial district, as announced by the Municipality on September 2. Blue directional signs have been set up by the Public Parking Management of Sharjah Municipality throughout the area to inform drivers about the new timings and fees. In many Islamic countries, including those in the Gulf, the Prophet's birthday is celebrated on 12 Rabi' Al-Awwal 1444, the third month of the Islamic calendar.
