Dubai’s RTA, in collaboration with e&, has launched free Wi-Fi across 43 public transport stations to enhance commuter experience and support the city’s digital transformation. Commuters in Dubai can now enjoy free Wi-Fi access at 43 public bus and marine transport stations across the city, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced. The RTA completed the rollout of the Wi-Fi service in collaboration with e& (formerly Etisalat) across 21 bus stations and 22 marine transport stations as part of its digital transformation initiative aimed at enhancing commuter experience. The new service enables passengers to stay connected on their smartphones, tablets, or laptops while waiting or commuting. “This initiative is part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to accelerate digital transformation across all its services, catering to diverse segments of society in line with the UAE’s vision,” the authority said in a statement. RTA emphasized that the move reflects its commitment to making commuting more rewarding and enjoyable for residents and tourists, while contributing to Dubai’s ambition of becoming the world’s smartest and happiest city. The authority also said that the Wi-Fi service will undergo continuous evaluation to ensure quality and explore opportunities for further expansion.
