Funeral service for Irishman who died hours after arriving in Dubai

  DUBAI – The family of an Irishman who died just hours after arriving in Dubai has arranged for a “celebration of life” tribute on Saturday. The funeral of Killian Roche, 32, will be held this weekend. His family said a ceremony will be held at Dublin’s Dardistown crematorium at 2pm on Saturday. Roche had moved to Dubai with his fiancée and Irish actress Emily MacKeogh when he collapsed and died at a Dubai hotel on March 30. The Irish Mirror quoted Roche’s friend as saying that the Irishman suffered a heart attack or may have suffered a sudden death syndrome. There is yet no official report on the cause of death. Roche was reportedly set to take up a new position as head of digital operations for a media company here. MacKeogh paid tribute to Roche on her Instagram page, saying that her fiancée “made me the happiest I’ve ever been, every second of every day.” "You were the better half of my whole, my best friend, my rock, the most intelligent, handsome, funny and loving person I have ever met!” she said.
