Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto have officially ended their relationship, their respective talent agencies confirmed on Thursday (September 18). Star Magic, which manages Anderson, and Viva Artists Agency, which represents Barretto, released separate statements on social media confirming the split after weeks of speculation. According to Viva, “the rumored reasons for the breakup circulating in recent weeks were unfounded and baseless.” The agency stressed that only statements from Barretto or Anderson should be regarded as accurate. Star Magic added: “We urge everyone to respect Gerald and Julia’s decision and refrain from spreading false narratives. Both are grateful to their fans and friends for the love and support.” The pair went public with their relationship in March 2021, though they had been linked since 2019 after starring together in the Japan-set film Between Maybes. Their romance had been controversial, with Barretto previously accused of involvement in Anderson’s breakup with Bea Alonzo, a claim she and Anderson denied. The two frequently spoke about marriage in interviews, often expressing confidence about a future together. However, rumors of a breakup have been circulating for months. Anderson, who stars in ABS-CBN’s primetime series Sins of the Father, last visited Dubai in 2023 for the Shukran Festival, where he also joined a friendly basketball game. Barretto performed at the Kalayaan event at Dubai World Trade Center in June this year. Prior to that trip, Anderson also denied rumours of a split, saying in an interview that he even accompanied Barretto to the airport ahead of her flight to Dubai. CAM/Expat Media
