Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) has introduced a new service to streamline the refund process for security deposits. Under a new agreement, customers who close their accounts can now collect their remaining deposits from any Al Ansari Exchange branch, offering a more convenient option for those without an IBAN. This initiative comes as part of SEWA’s broader plan to improve services and simplify procedures for customers. Dr. Hussein Al Askar, Director of SEWA's Customer Service Department, highlighted that the new refund channel is in line with the vision of Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide efficient and customer-friendly government services. Previously, SEWA would refund security deposits only through bank transfers via IBAN. With this new service, customers who do not have an IBAN can simply visit any Al Ansari Exchange branch to collect their refund in cash. The goal is to make the process quicker and more accessible, reducing the time and effort required for customers to retrieve their funds. Dr. Al Askar added that the initiative also aims to enhance customer satisfaction by providing more flexible refund options. By partnering with Al Ansari Exchange, SEWA ensures that customers can access their refunds at over 200 branches across the UAE. ICA/Expat Media
