Glider plane crashes in Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque parking lot

A glider crashed into the parking lot of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, injuring one person. The incident on Wednesday (August 31) involved a single-engine Cessna Caravan light plane. The crash was caused by a technical malfunction in the plane en route to landing at Al Bateen Private Airport. The small civilian aircraft crashed in an area devoid of personnel. The plane's pilot sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The National Search and Rescue Center, the General Command of the Abu Dhabi Police, and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) all worked together to ensure the crash site's safety.
