University and college students in the UAE who are running their own businesses can now apply for the 2026 edition of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA), one of the world’s largest competitions for student founders. Established in 1998 and run by Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), GSEA operates in 39 countries and connects young entrepreneurs to a global network of business leaders, mentors and investors. The programme is open to undergraduate and graduate students aged 18 to 30 who are actively enrolled in school and have been operating their business for at least six months. Applicants must be owners, founders or controlling shareholders of their company. Participants receive mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs, refine their pitching and storytelling skills, and gain direct feedback from business leaders. Finalists will compete for a share of a $100,000 prize at the Global Finals in July 2026, along with international exposure and recognition. Through EO’s global community, student founders gain insights that can help accelerate business growth and strengthen leadership skills. Finalists may also receive international media attention, including coverage through the docuseries Start It Up, which follows the journeys of select participants. The UAE application deadline is February 28. The UAE competition will take place on March 28, followed by regional quarterfinals in Saudi Arabia on May 7. The Global Finals are scheduled for July 2026. Applications can be submitted at www.gsea.org/apply by selecting Dubai, UAE. Judges evaluate both the entrepreneur and the business, with emphasis on the individual’s tenacity, ability to overcome challenges, and how effectively they balance academic life with running a company.
