Traffic fine discounts in UAE: your guide

  DUBAI – Police forces in the UAE are giving motorists big discounts on traffic fines as part of initiatives during the UAE Year of Giving. Here’s your guide to where and how you can avail of these traffic fine discounts in certain emirates.

ACROSS UAE

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, traffic fine discounts have been extended until February, and shall be applied across the UAE. Discount: 50 percent Covers: Traffic and impoundment fines incurred from December 2, 2017 Condition: Pay the fines within three months or until February, 2018

Discount: 50 percent Covers: Traffic fines committed before November 11, 2017 Condition: Pay fines on or before December 31, 2017

DUBAI

Discount: 50 percent Covers: Traffic fines accumulated in 2016 or earlier Condition: Settle fines before December 31, 2017 Payment points: RTA kiosks, Dubai Police website, Emirates Post, Max Box Middle East.

RAS AL KHAIMAH

Discount: 50 percent Covers: Radar-based fines Condition: Pay fines within 50 days of incurring the violation Payment point: Ras Al Khaimah Police Traffic Department Discount: 30 percent Covers: Radar-based fines Condition: Pay fines between the 51st day to 80th day after incurring the violation Payment: Ras Al Khaimah Police Traffic Department
