A Gulf national, identified as R.H., will stand trial in Dubai Criminal Court after being arrested for public intoxication, causing a disturbance, and assaulting police officers, according to the Dubai Public Prosecution. In a statement released via the Dubai Media Office, authorities clarified that R.H. was intoxicated in public and verbally abused police officers before resorting to physical assault. Following a thorough investigation, the Dubai Public Prosecution has decided to refer the case to trial, reinforcing the city’s strict legal stance on public behavior and law enforcement respect. Authorities reminded residents that consumption of alcohol is only permitted in licensed venues such as restaurants and lounges or in private residences with a valid alcohol license. Public intoxication remains a punishable offense in Dubai.
