Haze hits Dubai, with rain forecast this weekend
DUBAI – Haze covered parts of Dubai on Tuesday (July 21) as strong winds kicked up dust in the warm afternoon. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), Tuesday’s haze is caused by an extension of surface low pressure associated with an extension of upper air trough of low pressure. The bureau said the weather on Tuesday will remain fair to partly cloudy in general with winds to continue blowing up dust during the daytime. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea. The hazy weather is expected to continue until Thursday, with the NCM forecasting some rainfall on Friday. Tuesday’s temperature will reach a high of 48 degrees Celsius in the city and internal areas, and up to 44 degrees Celsius in coastal areas and islands. Humidity will peak at 65 percent in the city and internal areas, and 85 percent in coastal areas and islands.Haze in Dubai’s International City.
