Heavy fog blankets UAE with humidity reaching up to 90%

Dense fog blanketed UAE early Tuesday morning, prompting officials to warn drivers of hazardous road conditions. By 6:30 am, the humidity had nearly reached 90% as high summer temperatures remained. The National Centre of Meteorology forecast highs of 45ºC in some areas. Police in Abu Dhabi has reminded motorists to drive safely and to keep an eye out for temporary speed limits posted on highway signs. In poor weather conditions, the speed limit is often cut from 120kph to 80kph. There was heavy fog at Abu Dhabi airport early on Tuesday, but the display board showed that flights were departing as scheduled at 6 am. Humid conditions are forecast to continue throughout the week after a cooler than expected start to September. Due to changing weather patterns, September is often the most humid month after a dry summer. BKM/ Expat Media
