Police urge motorists to keep safe distance from car in front and use headlights as weather forecasters say heavy fog to continue in next few days

  DUBAI – Six motorists were slightly injured in two road accidents at the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain highway on Monday that involved a total of 25 vehicles. Auhorities blamed the accidents on heavy fog that blanketed most of the emirate on Monday. The accident occurred between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., according to Abu Dhabi police. Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, director general of the Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations, said paramedics were dispatched to the highways to treat those injured. He also urged motorists to take the necessary precautions during heavy fog, such as maintaining a safe distance with the vehicle in front of them and using headlights. The weather agency expects foggy conditions to continue in the coming days, especially early mornings and at night. Al Dhaheri said that the six injured people sustained minor cuts and bruises. As a result of the accidents, police directed motorists to other routes crossing Al Sad bridge.
