Corporal Ahmed Ali Al Beloushi receives the prestigious Security Sense Medal. RAK POLICE
A Ras Al Khaimah police officer has been honoured for his courage in responding to a horrific road rage shooting that left three women dead and another critically injured. Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, presented Corporal Ahmed Ali Al Beloushi with the prestigious Security Sense Medal for his "exceptional bravery, sharp instincts, and steadfast commitment to protecting lives and public safety." The ceremony was attended by top police officials, including Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police. Police said they responded within five minutes of receiving a report about gunfire following a traffic altercation. The tragedy unfolded when an Arab man confronted four women—three sisters and their mother—after a dispute over passing a narrow road. The victims were a 66-year-old mother and her daughters aged 36 and 38, all of whom succumbed to gunshot wounds. A fourth sister, 47, was wounded. In an emotional statement, Maher Salem Wafai, the victims’ son and brother, recounted the ordeal: “He ran her over and then shot her in the head. When another sister approached, he shot her too. My mother, trying to avoid the horrific scene, was also shot along with my other sister, who rushed to help.” Authorities have arrested the suspect, and referred the case to the Public Prosecution for legal action.
