Police in Ras Al Khaimah have arrested a 35-year-old man who fled the scene after running over a 67-year-old Asian man with his vehicle. Police said that the incident happened on Thursday morning (October 12). The victim was serious wounded, said Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Bahhar, Acting Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police. Al Bahhar said that the police launched an investigation to track down and arrest the suspect after he fled the scene of the accident. He was identified within a few minutes of police reviewing Ras Al Khaimah’s security cameras. The driver has been referred to authorities for further legal actions. Meanwhile, the victim of the hit-and-run incident is undergoing treatment at a hospital, Al Bahhar said. ICA/Expat Media
