The Philippines is assisting the husband of a Filipina nurse who was found dead in Abu Dhabi by sponsoring his flight to the UAE, according to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). The investigation into the nurse’s death is ongoing, with UAE authorities yet to release the full details. The deceased, identified as 32-year-old R.J. (full name withheld), was a nurse who had recently arrived in the UAE in August to work for a home healthcare company. She went missing on October 6, and three days later, her body was found on a highway in Abu Dhabi. Her death has left behind a grieving family, including her husband, Kenneth Paul Ancheta, and their two young children. DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac announced during a media forum that the government is facilitating Ancheta's trip to the UAE so he can personally oversee the investigation into his wife’s death and assist in the repatriation process. "We are working closely with UAE authorities to uncover the truth behind this tragic incident," Cacdac said. Ancheta had been actively searching for his wife after she went missing, turning to social media and local groups in the UAE for help. The news of her death has sent shockwaves through the Filipino community in the UAE, with many expressing their condolences online. The DMW, alongside the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, confirmed that they are in touch with the family and are providing all necessary support. “The repatriation of her remains will depend on the progress of the investigation, but we will do everything in our power to assist her husband and family,” Cacdac added in Filipino.
