The iftar spread at nantara The Palm Dubai Resort. ARCHIVE

With Ramadan just around the corner, Dubai’s iftar scene is heating up, and Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort is offering a feast that promises both tradition and indulgence. We at Expat Media had the chance to experience their iftar at Crescendo firsthand—so was it worth the hype? Let’s dig in. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The resort’s Thai-inspired charm, combined with traditional Arabian hospitality, made for a lovely welcome. Whether seated on the scenic terrace under the stars or in the chic yet cozy indoor dining area, there was no shortage of Instagram-worthy moments. The buffet lineup was extensive, featuring classic Middle Eastern favorites alongside international selections. The lamb ouzi was a definite standout—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The mezze selection, including silky hummus, smoky baba ghanoush, and crisp falafel, was a solid start to the meal. The seafood station also impressed, with fresh prawns and grilled fish that paired beautifully with zesty sauces. This iftar does not disappoint when it comes to sweets. The kunafa had just the right balance of crispy and gooey, and the Umm Ali was creamy comfort in a bowl. The baklava, however, was a bit on the sweeter side, so those who prefer a more subtle dessert might want to pair it with a strong Arabic coffee. Speaking of drinks, the selection of Ramadan juices—including jallab and tamarind—added a refreshing touch. We would have loved to see a few more creative beverage options, but the classics did their job well.

The verdict: worth the visit?

At Dh250 per person, Anantara’s iftar is undeniably on the pricier side, but given the luxurious setting, quality ingredients, and overall experience, it’s a solid option for those looking to celebrate Ramadan in style. The dedicated prayer areas and warm service add to the experience, making it a great spot for families and friends to gather. For those seeking a little extra relaxation, the Ramadan Spa Special (Dh399 for a Phytomer facial or Anantara Signature Massage) is a tempting way to round off the evening. Would we go back? Absolutely—but next time, we’ll save a little more room for dessert. Reservations To book your iftar at Anantara The Palm, call +971 4 567 8304 or email restaurants.dubai@anantara.com.
