Illicit sex case: Boyfriend found hiding under woman's bed in Palm Jumeirah

DUBAI - A Jordanian college student and her Emirati boyfriend are on trial after her father found her boyfriend hiding under the bed in their apartment. The incident happened in the Jordanian family's residence on Palm Jumeirah. According to records, the father had knocked on her daughter's door at 3pm and when she took a long time to answer, he became suspicious and searched the room. His suspicions grew deeper after he found a pair of men's jeans in the room. He then found the Emirati hiding under the bed. "When he saw my boyfriend’s jeans, he asked me about it and I told him that it was for one of my female friends. Unconvinced with my response, he went on searching the house until he was shocked to find my boyfriend hiding under my bed," the student told prosecutors. The Emirati tried to flee but was restrained by the father until police arrived. His daughter and the Emirati were taken to the police station for investigation. During interrogation, the Jordanian said that she met the Emirati at a cafe one year ago, and soon became a couple. She said that they both fell asleep on the afternoon that her father visited her room. Investigation, however, revealed that the couple had sex. The Emirati also admitted having sex with the student in her apartment. They were referred to prosecutors who charged them with having consensual sex. They failed to show up for trial on Thursday.
